A trip to city of Amritsar, Punjab was organized for the students of class III, IV and V. Accompanied by Headmistress and teachers, students reached the destination as per the scheduled time from where they were taken to the Hotel. After the lunch, the students along with their teachers proceeded to the Indo-Pak border to watch the Retreat ceremony. Everyone was mesmerized by the patriotic songs. The presentation of the BSF soldiers and officers and the aura created by the viewers present there amazed everyone. Amidst the loud slogans, feeling of patriotism could be felt all over the place. Our school students had the privilege of carrying the National Flag towards the border gate. The ceremony ended with lowering of the National Flags of both the countries.
After dinner in the hotel students enjoyed a musical evening. The next morning, the students were ready to go to the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. Inside the temple, they were explained about the importance of the temple and Akal-Takht. After darshan, they proceeded to the Jallianwala Bagh. The history of the massacre at Jallianwala was explained to the students. The Shahidi Well and the bullet marks on the wall evidences of the massacre were witnessed by the students. They were taken for shopping to the local market to be familiar with the rich culture of Punjab. Children enjoyed street shopping and were happy to buy some souvenirs for their relatives.
After lunch, they proceeded to the station to board the Swarna Shatabdi at 4:50p.m. in the train, on the way back, the children were given the worksheets related to their trip which they filled with great enthusiasm. Throughout the trip, the children were well disciplined and praised by the people around. They came back happy cherishing the fond memories of the trip.
